Warrick delves into the drive-by shooting of a young girl from his childhood neighborhood. The victim's father, who has been both a friend and a mentor to Warrick, adds to the emotional weight of the case. His feelings become so overwhelming that Grissom ultimately decides to take him off the investigation. Meanwhile, Nick focuses on the murder of an employee at a tech firm, where the only potential suspects are the three other workers in the office.
